Each week, our HomeTeam staffers nominate male and female Hot Shot athletes from each of the counties we cover. Then we turn the voting over to readers. These nominations span Saturday, Sept. 26 through Friday, Oct. 2. Read up on all of our nominees then vote until noon Monday.
Peyton Palsha, swimming, St. Petersburg: The junior took control of the distance events at the Pinellas County Athletic Conference meet, winning the 200 free in one minute, 50.46 seconds and the 500 free in 4:54.35. She was more than three seconds ahead of her closest competitor.
Christin Rockway, swimming, Tampa Catholic: At the Tampa Bay Classic, the sophomore set the meet record in the 200 individual medley by winning in two minutes, 4.01 seconds, beating the previous record by more than two seconds. She also won the 100 back in 56.62.
Noah Lense, swimming, Countryside: The senior set a record at the PCAC meet by winning the 100 fly in 49.68, breaking the five-year-old mark of 50.02 set by former Cougars standout Matt Ellis. Lense also won the 50 free in 21.49.
Daniel Moore, swimming, Tampa Prep: The junior won the 50 free at the Tampa Bay Classic in a meet-record 22.01 seconds and swam a leg on the winning 200 free relay that set another record in 1:27.89.
