AquaKids SHARKS Senior swimmers, Lindsay Manganiello and Luke Smutny have committed to compete at the next level! Swimming at the collegiate level is an experience unlike any other in the world of competitive swimming.

Lindsay is an honor student at Coral Reef High School and is a Backstroke / Middle Distance Freestyler. She has committed to swim at Florida Gulf Coast University (Ft Myers) beginning in the fall of 2016!

“I chose Florida Gulf Coast University because of the stellar coaching staff, team, and academics. Coming from a small, family-like club team, FGCU really made me feel like a part of their family, which is exactly the type of school and team I was looking to surround myself with. I know I will have great opportunities to succeed both in the pool and classroom. I’m very excited for my journey ahead of me as an EAGLE!”

Some of her current best times are:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:59.70
  • 100 Backstroke: 59.11
  • 200 Backstroke: 2:06.99

Luke, a Scholastic All-American home schooled student has committed to attend and swim at the University of Pittsburgh next fall. He is a Butterfly / Middle Distance Freestyler and US Open qualifier in the 200 Butterfly!

“I chose the University of Pittsburgh because of the amazing academics, coaches, and swim team.  Once I met with the coaches and team I immediately knew it would be a perfect fit for me.  I feel that I can excel in both the classroom and pool at Pitt, and I am excited to become a Panther!  Hail to Pitt!”

Some of his current best times are:

  • 200 Freestyle: 1:40.51
  • 500 Freestyle: 4:35.02
  • 100 Butterfly: 50.39
  • 200 Butterfly: 1:48.28
