September 5, 2015—Land O’ Lakes High coach Robin Hilgenberg was slightly worried before the swim season began, and for a couple of good reasons. The longtime Gators coach lost Megan Thai, who transferred to Sunlake, and region qualifier Pierce Imperialbobis informed Hilgenberg that she was moving to Hawaii. With two of her top swimmers from a year ago gone, it seemed like the Gators might see a bit of a drop-off this fall. However, Imperialbobis returned to the school this week and swam against Ridgewood last Wednesday night. Hilgenberg said Imperialbobis competed in the 100 butterfly and the medley relay races. The Gators defeated the Rams by scores of 138-24 and 156-37 on the boys and girls sides, respectively.

“She’s working extra hard with her club team and the high school team so she can be ready for the state series,” Hilgenberg said of Imperialbobis. “She’s a hard worker.”
