University of Florida has certainly been doing their Florida athlete, as well as the world athlete homework and bringing in a big contingent this year.

Swimming for St. Joseph Academy, Isabella Garofalo was a four-time state qualifier in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle.

At this year’s Class 1A Region Meet at the Bolles School this year, Garofalo was a double regional champion posting an automatic All American time of 23.23 in the 50 yard Freestyle and an All American consideration time of 51.07 in the 100 yard freestyle.

At this past weekends Class 1A state meet in Stuart, she placed third in the 50 yard Freestyle 23.45 and fourth in the 100 freestyle 52.23. Bella, a life long Cyclone, was 2015 Florida Swimming Long Course Senior Champion in the 50 meter freestyle and has competed at the 2015 NASA Junior National Cup.

She also will compete at this year ‘s Winter Junior Nationals in Atlanta in December. Garofalo trains under the guidance of Saint Augustine Swim Team head swim coach Frank Holleman and St Joseph Academy head swim coach Craig Teeters.

“She is not only great swimmer but even a greater person and role model to our swimmers here in St. Augustine. She should be a great addition to the Gator Swim program,” says her coach Frank Holleman.
