She finished as state high school runner-up in the 500 Free in 2013. Sanchez spent the first part of last year recovering from a back injury while still helping lead Gulliver Prep to their first-ever Florida High School State Championship in 2014. This past summer, Sanchez returned to healthy form and achieved personal long course bests in the 100, 200, 400, and 800 Freestyles and placed in the Top 16 of the 800 Free and the Top 24 of the 200 Free at the 2015 Futures Championship in West Lafayette, IN.

Namilla Sanchez is the 3rd Gulliver swimmer to commit to an SEC school this fall. Last month, Sanchez’s Gulliver teammates Niki Urquidi and Kelly Fertel made their commitments to swim for the University of Florida.

Congrats, Namilla!
