Distance Specialist Kendall Brent Commits to Yale University

October 9, 2015—Distance Specialist Kendall Brent, who is the #1 recruit from Florida according to, verbally committed to Yale University today. Kendall is the long-time distance queen in Florida Swimming who swims for Swim Florida and Mac Kennedy.

“Kendall is one of those special athletes that comes to work everyday, swims until the last minute, and concentrates on everything needed to be successful. She started showing some serious potential around the age of 12 and continued to improve and work hard.  Yale has a great education and a good swim program, so this will be perfect for her,” Coach Mac explained.

Kendall is an Olympic Trial qualifier in the 400 and the 800 Freestyles and seeded pretty well so far in the 800.

“I fell in love with the dynamics of the team, the coaches and the education that Yale brings. After meeting the athletes, the feeling was that they really want work hard and make an impact this year. That inspired me. Also after Coach Mac and Coach Henry spoke, Coach Mac said, ‘That’s the coach for you from now on!’ I also want to concentrate on Economics and I feel Yale is a great place for that,” Kendall told Florida Swim Network today.
