Club Sailfish Swimmer Tori Bindi Commits to Florida Gators
Tori Bindi spoke with Florida Swim Network last year at the state meet in Port St Lucie, FL.
September 30, 2015— Tori Bindi, of Club Sailfish and Gulf Breeze High School, has committed to swim for the University of Florida. She won the 50 Freestyle 3 years in a row and 6-time High School champion for Gulf Breeze in the 2A division so far!
Bindi also looked at Auburn University, Yale, Vanderbilt and a few others.
Working on her 4.7 grade point average, Bindi has huge sights on her academic side, looking to go to medical school at Florida.
“I think it was the combination of everything that Florida has,” said Bindi, “The UF athletic program with how well they work with academics is what stood out to me. Because I eventually want to go on to bigger things in life on the academic side.
“And so how the academic advisor works with the swimmer and coaches’ schedule really stood out on how much everybody cares. And the other thing that put (UF) over was just the people there are so amazing, so welcoming and I felt like home as soon as I got there.” 1
Cool video interview with her on the local station in Pensacola. She is the second half of the piece.
