Aqua Chiefs Girls Sweep, Boys Split

Yesterday at the Pompano Aquatic Center, the girls team swept both Pompano and Piper to move to 7-1 on the season.

The girls were in a seesaw battle with their cross-town rivals, Pompano. A 1-2-3 sweep in the 100 Back by Brooke Gest, Rebecca Amar, and Clair Frain put the Chiefs in front for good. Event winners were Julianna Russell, Savannah Yates, Brooke Gest, Kelly Gest, Adriana Rodriguez, Clair Frain, Rebecca Amar, and Christine Bergamini. Sammie Adair, Ja’len Mitchell, and Sarah Ryder added big points to the Chiefs attack to put them over the top.

Zach Allen was the lone event champion in the Pompano meet. In the Piper meet; event winners were Allen, Hudson Coldren, Glenn Fitzpatrick, Harry Tamayo, Tommy Lorenz, Nick Hediger, Sebastien Parks, and Chris Zislin. The largest improvements on the day came from Spenser Adams.

The Chiefs will be back in BCAA double dual meet action one week from Wed, Sept 30 at 7pm at the Plantation Aquatic Complex to take on South Plantation and West Broward. GO CHIEFS!
