2015 Panama City Beach High School Invitational

The Chiles HS boy’s swimming and diving team and the Niceville HS girls team claimed titles at the 2015 Panama City Beach High School Invitational on Saturday. The meet is one of the largest high school invitationals in the state. It featured 20 teams and 560 swimmers and divers from FHSAA Classes 1A, 2A, and 3A across the Panhandle.
The Chiles HS boys defended their title outscoring second place Arnold High School of Panama City 384-271. Chiles won three relay events and four individual events. Sophomore John Yambor-Maul led the way with victories in the 200 Freestyle (1:47.58) and 500 Freestyle (4:47.85). Freshman Ryland Sun won the 100 Fly (52.85) and junior Chase Lane was first in the 1 meter diving with a 295.15.
Other event winners were 200 IM – Daniel Orcut (Fort Walton Beach) 1:56.34; 50 Free – Anthony Davis (Gulf Breeze) 22:50; 100 Free – Shane Williams (Mosley) 50.49; 100 Back – Alex Phlegar (Arnold) 55.75.
Top five boy’s teams: Chiles 384, Arnold 271, Niceville 250, Mosley 234, Lincoln 198.
The Niceville HS girls (319) won a close victory over second place Chiles (314) and third place Arnold (301). Niceville won the 200 Freestlye Relay, Arnold the 200 Medley Relay and Chiles the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Five girls won the nine individual events. Gulf Breeze senior Tori Bindi won the 50 Freestyle (24.36) and 100 Freestyle (53.32). Chiles sophomore won the 200 Freestyle (1:55.66) and 500 Freestyle (5:08.23). Chiles junior Morgan Ayers was first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:12.84) and 100 Breast (1:08.72). Arnold senior Hannah Retherford won the 100 Fly (57.73) and 100 Back (58.60). And Chiles freshman Rainey Vause won the 1 meter diving with a 203.05.
Top five girls teams: Niceville 319, Chiles 314, Arnold 301, Mosley 206, Gulf Breeze 176.
